Dear Friends,
WELCOME TO FLOCKNOTE!
What's that your might be asking. Well, it is an up to date form of modern communication for the Church.
I have written you twice since the Corona-virus gripped our world 6 months ago. However, getting a letter out to you (writing, copying, stuffing and addressing envelopes, finally taking them to the post office,) is very time consuming.
Also, I have been asked regularly, "When will we start having Mass?" As you well know we have had a couple of false starts. It just leads to confusion for everyone.
This is where FLOCKNOTE comes into play. It is an instantaneous communication tool which sends information to your cell phone and/or e-mail. We can let you know what is happening here at St. Finn Barr's almost immediately. You can regularly be in the loop. You can also communicate with us in the same way.
We will reach out to you weekly giving you regular updates on our parish happenings and some spiritual resources for your own prayer life.
Once you get used to FLOCKNOTE and find it of use you can help it grow by encouraging other parishioners you know to sign up for it. It's very easy to subscribe.
they'd rather receive communications via text, ask them to text the word FINNBARR (one word, no spaces, and capitalization doesn't matter) to 84576 on their phone.
Yes, I now that number doesn't look like a real phone number, but it works for texting.
Also, check us out on the parish website:

There are a lot of great resources out there!
One good thing about this shelter in place period is that it has given people, Catholic
and non-Catholic alike, an excuse to explore the many great free resources there are out there to help us learn more about our faith. Here's a video by Bishop Robert Barron on Thomas Merton that might find interesting.
